Reports from Spain suggest that Sergio Aguero could be involved in a sensational transfer that would see him move to Chelsea from Manchester City.
Manu Sainz, a Madrid-based journalist for AS and Cadena SER, has claimed on Twitter that the Blues want to sign Aguero and Pep Guardiola has approved the transfer.
It would be a remarkable transfer if it came off, especially given City would be selling directly to a Premier League title rival.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for the Argentina striker in the past, notably in 2009 when his wage demands halted a move to Stamford Bridge.
The arrival of Gabriel Jesus at the Etihad has raised doubts over Aguero’s long-term future at the club and Guardiola could look to cash in on him.
Despite finding himself on the substitutes’ bench a number of times last season, Aguero still managed to score 33 goals in 45 appearances for the club.
Aguero may have a fantastic goalscoring record at City following his move in 2011, but Chelsea fans seem to be split on whether or not Antonio Conte should sign him.
Many believe the striker’s spent too much time on the sideline over the past few years, while some feel the club should do all they can to sign the 29-year-old.
