The traditional ruler of Umueri, Igwe Sir Ben Emeka, says the collective decision of Ndi Anambra to renew the mandate of
the present administration was a clear indication that Governor Obiano is the people’s choice.
Reacting to the outcome of last Saturday’s governorship election in the state, Igwe Sir Ben, commended Governor Obiano for his resounding victory at the poll which he described as victory for Ndi Anambra.
He maintained that Governor Obiano’s achievements and good governance in his first term, earned him the people’s trust and belief that made them vote for him in the just -concluded election.
Igwe Sir Ben, noting that the victory will enable the Governor consolidate on the development of the state, commended INEC and security agencies for their various efforts towards the peaceful and creditable election just as he thanked the electorate for exhibiting high level of decorum that guaranteed the smooth exercise.
In a related development, the traditional ruler of Owelle Ancient kingdom in Anambra West Local Council Area, Igwe Anthony Onyekwere, said Governor Willie Obiano’s re-election victory shows that Ndi Anambra believe in his administration’s vision and mission and congratulated him for his landslide victory.
Igwe Onyekwere, who enjoined other candidates who lost in the election to join hands with Governor Willie Obiano in the interest of peace and progress of the state, thanked traditional rulers, presidents- general, women and youths, among others, for their commitment to re-electing Governor Willie Obiano.
On his part, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Utilities and Water Development, Mr. Obim Anesodo, said Governor Willie Obiano’s renewed mandate is a challenge for him to do more for the citizenry.
