Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday evening returned to Abuja after a successful working visit trip to US.
The Presidential jet that conveyed the President landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at about 21:35 GMT.
He was received at the airport by his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari as well as Minister of the Federal capital Territory Mohammed Bello among others.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, confirmed Buhari’s arrival to journalists shortly after his aircraft touched down in Abuja.
Buhari, who left Washington DC on Tuesday after his Monday meeting with President Donald Trump, was said to have had a stopover in London, United Kingdom.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, had earlier on Thursday informed Journalists that the President had a “technical stopover” in London because “the big aircraft in the Presidential Air Fleet is currently under repairs. This is very normal. There is nothing unusual about it,” he said.
The President is expected to travel to his hometown Daura, Katsina State on Friday, for the weekend.
