Crystal Palace face a race against time to seal a dramatic late move for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi.
Batshuayi has been linked with West Ham, Real Betis and Tottenham on a manic transfer deadline day for the Belgian.
Tottenham seemed his only route out of Valencia as the deadline loomed after it was revealed that the north London club had held talks with Chelsea.
But those negotiations soon reached a deadlock, and Palace have swooped in.
The Premier League winner is currently on loan with Valencia but both parties are eager to cut an unsuccessful spell short.
The paperwork has been signed for the player to be released from that deal if he can find a new club, with Chelsea looking for other suitors throughout the month.
It is thought that Palace signalled their interest in Batshuayi as early as December but have left it until the final hours to try and secure deal.
Sky Sports report that the south London club have agreed personal terms with the player, but there remains a great deal more to be sorted before any move can go through.
Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail is among those who say Palace are confident they can get the move sorted before the 11pm UK deadline – although if a deal sheet is handed into the Premier League before then they will secure an extension.
