There are many private and state and federal hospitals that are not approved for the training of medical students (internship). On this page, Fatherprada is going to list the teaching hospitals approved by the medical and dental council of Nigeria for internship training with a number of approved interns.

Universities in Nigeria are usually not fully equipped to take off the practical need of medical students and health professionals, therefore the need for a university teaching hospital becomes a necessity.

In Nigeria, teaching hospitals are affiliated with approved universities and medical schools and work closely with medical students throughout their period of matriculation, especially during their internship years. There is stiff competition among medical and health graduates for slots, usually less than 150. It is advisable to start searching for internship positions as soon as possible.
